Do you want to know the SEO techniques that can help your website rank at the top when people search with money-making keywords?

People who engage in marketing through Search Marketing (SEO & SEM) will know that certain words are considered money-making keywords. If our website appears at the top of the search results for these money-making keywords, it will greatly increase business opportunities and credibility.

But the problem is, when there is a high market value, money-making keywords have intense and fierce SEO competition accordingly.

In this article, I would like to share 5 SEO techniques that are part of the quality SEO course. I have used these techniques to make shifu appear at the top of search results for money-making keywords or high-search-volume terms.

Factors that make a website rank on Google’s first page

The first thing you need to know is that the main factor affecting search rankings is…

From my years of experience in SEO, I have found that there are three main factors.

  • Number of visitors
    Audience Experience (User Signal)
    Authority

The better a webpage or content performs in the three factors mentioned above, the higher the chances of the website appearing on the first page in the top rankings.

So, what SEO techniques help in doing SEO? One step that must be done every time is to find the keywords you want to rank for.

The popular keywords that SEO professionals want to rank for are High Commercial Intent Keywords because they are used by people who already want the product. Therefore, there is a high chance that visitors to the website will pay for products or services from the website.

However, for certain types of products, the websites that appear on the first page of the search results for those keywords are major e-commerce platforms like Lazada, Shopee, Priceza, and others. This makes these keywords highly competitive and difficult to rank for.

The question is, if we are an e-commerce website that doesn’t have the massive capital like our competitors, how can we do SEO to compete with them?

This article will share techniques for SEO on highly competitive keywords, which you can definitely apply to improve your SEO results.

SEO techniques for highly competitive keywords

The principle used is to make the website “different and better” than the competitors, or in other words, identify the competitors’ weaknesses and improve on those areas.

You might be wondering how websites like Lazada and Shopee have their vulnerabilities.

The answer is, personally, I think nothing in the world is 100% perfect because even major websites, while strong in SEO with primary keywords, often do not focus on niche longtail keywords.

1. Choose the keyword to be

The first thing we should do is focus on ranking for Niche Longtail Keywords, which are phrases with specific meanings and sub-words that expand the main word.

For example, a website selling car seat covers has keywords like “car seat covers” and “car seat covers.”

with the words that are Niche Longtail Keywords are

  • Cheap cartoon-patterned car seat covers
  • Cheap cartoon-patterned car seat covers
  • Manchester United car seat cover set

The advantages of focusing on ranking for niche long-tail keywords are twofold.

Make the website “relevant” easier.

Typically, big e-commerce companies focus on ranking for main keywords but often do not specifically target certain niche long-tail keywords. If we optimize our website to focus specifically on niche long-tail keywords, the result is that Google will see our website as better in terms of “relevance” to what the searcher is looking for.

It has a high commercial intent.

Due to Niche Longtail Keywords often being phrases with specific meanings related to particular subjects, they are used by people who are already interested in those subjects. Therefore, they are keywords that can easily convert visitors into customers.

2. One webpage, multiple keywords

The next thing I would like to recommend is to optimize a single webpage to appear in the search results for multiple keywords.

For example, if you want to rank for 3 keywords, they are keyword A, B, and C. What needs to be done is to adjust it so that when people search for keyword A, B, or C People will see the same webpage appear in Google’s search results.

The question is, why do it that way?

The reason we do that is because we are trying to increase the number of page views as much as possible. The number of page views is one of the factors that Google uses to determine whether a webpage is in demand by information seekers. To help you understand better, let me give an example using the SEO strategies of two websites with different approaches, both aiming to rank for the same three keywords. Let’s assume the details are as follows.

ปริมาณค้นหา SEO Keyword

Website A uses the strategy “one webpage, multiple keywords,” resulting in the outcome shown in the image below.

สอน SEO หลาย Keyword

But website B uses the “one webpage, one keyword” strategy, resulting in the outcomes shown in the image below.

ทำ SEO มี Keyword เดียว

It can be seen that the target webpage of website A will have more visitors because the traffic from all keywords will flow to a single webpage, while website B’s traffic will be dispersed.

The more visitors a webpage has, the higher the chance of it appearing on the first page.

3. Make the User Signal good

User Signal is a value that reflects the experience of website visitors. There are three values as follows.

  1. Click Through Rate (CTR) is the rate of clicks on a website.
  2. Time On Site is the time people spend on a webpage.
  3. Bounce Rate is the proportion of people who visit just one page of a website and do not click on any other pages (the lower, the better).

The better our website performs in all three aspects mentioned above, the greater the chance of appearing on the first page. This is because Google sees our website as providing an excellent experience for visitors, reflecting that it is a high-quality site.

One weakness of giant E-commerce platforms is that 99% of their seller web pages tend to be in a template format, meaning the content structure is identical and cannot be freely customized.

This is our advantage because we can fully customize and detail the webpage to create a better user experience than our competitors. Recommended techniques for increasing User Signals include:

Write interesting and click-worthy headlines.

Try to write interesting and attractive web page titles that encourage clicks, which will result in a higher CTR.

A good way to write a headline is to create one that tells the reader what they are going to read about and what value it will provide to them. Because when people know what benefits they will gain from watching, they are more likely to click on that website.

Related Link

Related Link refers to linking to web pages that are relevant to the content and beneficial to the audience, which results in improved Time On Site and Bounce Rate, such as videos or other related articles.

Increase Page Speed

Page Speed, or the speed at which users can see the content of a website, is a crucial factor that affects User Signals. If users have to wait too long to see the content, there is a high chance they will leave the website immediately (Google found that 53% of mobile users will close a website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load) or not visit other pages on the site. This can significantly impact the Bounce Rate and Time On Site.

Therefore, making the website load faster is something that should be done because it affects SEO.

4. Create Quality Backlinks

Quality Backlink is a backlink obtained from a reliable and high-quality website.

From years of data collection, it has been found that Quality Backlinks significantly affect rankings. If our website continuously receives Quality Backlinks, its ranking in search results will skyrocket.

According to the principles of creating Quality Backlinks, there are 3 points as follows.

Quality over quantity

Due to the fact that giant e-commerce websites often have a massive number of backlinks, we should not compete on quantity because we will lose from the start. We should focus more on quality instead.

Choose relevant websites (Relevance)

You should install backlinks from websites related to the content of your website. For example, if your website sells car seat covers, receiving a backlink from a website about cars or car accessories would be considered relevant.

You should install backlinks from websites related to the content of your website. For example, if your website sells car seat covers, receiving a backlink from a website about cars or car accessories would be considered relevant.

The advantage of creating links on related websites is that there is a high chance people will click to visit the site naturally because our website is relevant to what the audience wants.

Choose a highly reputable website (High Authority).

Authority is the credibility of a website. The more backlinks you get from credible websites, the higher the chances of your website ranking on the first page.
