What is SEO content?
SEO content is an article that is tailored to align with search engine algorithms, making it easy for search engines to understand what the article is about. This results in a higher chance of ranking well in search results and increasing website traffic without having to spend much on promotion.
Of course, an SEO-compliant article must start with the writer’s assistance. It cannot be viewed as solely the marketer’s responsibility (because while marketers may know about SEO, they might not be able to write as well as writers).
As an online writer SEO is one of the things you need to learn because it will help your writing thrive in the digital world. Just think about it—if your writing can rank on Google search multiple times, it would be good for the website and SEO overall. And on another level, it would be something to be proud of, right?

Want to start writing SEO articles? What do you need to know?
Whether you are a writer or someone who is building your own website and blog, the following SEO article writing techniques will definitely help your website soar to the top ranks.
Techniques for writing SEO articles (SEO Content) to rank eternally on Google
1. Every article must have a keyword.
Keyword is a ‘key term’ or ‘key phrase’ that we want people to find when they search using this phrase.
In the past, when writing an article, we might only think about the title, the outline, and then narrate the story accordingly. But when it comes to writing online articles, we should start by considering who we are writing for and what keywords they will use to search for the topic we are going to write about.
Provide an example of a perspective on keyword selection.
- Write what you want to present.
Mostly, start simply by deciding what we will write about. That topic is the keyword. For example, Content Shifu will write about creating websites with WordPress. The chosen keywords would be “creating websites” and “WordPress,” etc.
- Think from the user’s perspective. What might someone interested in this article be interested in?
Besides finding keywords from our perspective, let’s also consider what people searching might actually want. For example, if we are writing about creating a website with WordPress, what people are likely to search for could be things like “create a website by yourself,” “how to create a website,” “how to use WordPress,” and so on.
Tips
We can choose to use the keywords we want along with other keywords that we think people might search for together. There’s no need to focus solely on one keyword, as this will increase the chances of people finding our article. We refer to other related keywords as “related keywords.”
- Use Keyword Research Tools to find keywords.
The examples in the first two points are keywords that we initially ‘guessed ourselves.’ But if we want to choose keywords that can actually help rank the website and are genuinely searched by people, using Keyword Research tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest, Keysearch will be very beneficial.
Keyword Research Tools will help indicate the search volume of keywords, as well as assess the competition difficulty of those keywords. Another benefit is that they can be used to find similar phrases for us to choose from.

2. Add keywords to make it easy for search engines to find.
Once you know the keyword, the next step is to learn the technique of placing the keyword to make it easy for search engines to find. Google gives different importance to each part of the content. If you want to tell Google that this is an important phrase, you should place the keyword in the following five key positions.
-
Title or article title
-
URL of the article link (also known as Slug)
If your keyword is in English, there’s no problem. But if it’s in Thai, you might have to choose between not including it or using it anyway, which has the downside of making the URL look ugly and possibly messy when shared.
-
Description or article description
By default, it refers to the first paragraph, but we can also modify the description ourselves. If you use WordPress, you can download an SEO plugin like Yoast SEO and edit it.
-
Headings or various topics

Image title and Alt Text of the image
Many people may not know that the name of the image also affects SEO. Before uploading, you should name the image with keywords. Once uploaded, click to edit the image and add keywords in the Alternative Text as well (normally, Alt Text is used for when the image doesn’t load, to indicate what the image is about).

The position for entering Alt Text and Image Title in WordPress
Inserting keywords into the five strategic positions mentioned above may seem technical, but this technique also requires ‘creativity’ to keep the text natural and interesting to read. The most challenging part is likely writing the heading.
For example, a fruit seller wants to hire us to write an article with the idea “4 Fruits for Weight Loss” (Keyword is “Weight Loss”). The content must mention 4 types of fruits, including 1. Apple 2. Papaya 3. Banana 4. Orange We might write the heading as
- Lose weight with apples.
- Papaya helps with digestion and weight loss.
- Banana, filling and no need to starve.
- Lose weight and enjoy sweetness, yo must eat oranges.
If we can add keywords, then add them. If there are too many, change them. Replace them with related keywords or words with similar meanings.
3. The quantity and natural distribution of the Keyword
Of course, the keywords are not only included in the five strategic points, but they should also be mentioned in the article’s content.
We use the word “sometimes” to mean that we shouldn’t overdo it, because Google will see it as trying too hard. Most recommendations say that keyword density should not exceed 2.5%, which means the proportion of keywords compared to the total amount of text in the article.
The recommendation is that if possible, we should include the keyword in the first sentence of the article, and then loosely distribute it throughout the article.
In WordPress, you can also check keyword density using an SEO plugin like Yoast SEO.

The result that Yoast mentions in the Inbound Marketing article, the orange-colored one, is that he warns us that we forgot to remove the stop word (redundant word) in the URL, such as introduction-to-inbound-marketing, which should be changed to inbound-marketing-introduction, without the “to.”
4. Writing quality articles is the best way to do SEO
A global search engine naturally wants its search results to please users and readers. This means the system must want to present content that it considers to be of high quality.
So how does Google know which articles are of high quality?
There are many things to consider, but let me highlight three basic factors as follows.
-
Length of the article
Long articles tend to be of higher quality, indicating that they are “not just for show.” Many experts suggest that if possible, around 500-700 words is ideal. However, for us, we recommend aiming for around 1,000 words or more.
-
Fresh article (Original Content)
The term “fresh” has two meanings: it means original and unique (and it must not be copied or rewritten from other articles), and it also means being the first to write.
-
Engagement metrics on Social Media
Especially if your article gets shared a lot, it will have a significant impact on SEO. If your article is truly useful or impresses the readers, they will likely want to share it.
5. Consistency and regularly updating content
An article that is meticulously written and repeatedly checked for SEO might not yield the desired results due to a lack of ‘consistency.’
Because it takes time for a website to grow, gain high authority, and be recognized by Google, it requires the accumulation of experience.
In the eyes of search engines like Google, consistently updated content on a website means that the site is well-maintained and continuously growing because it attracts regular visitors (sharing on social media can immediately bring people to the website without waiting for Google to rank it).
As for Branding The continuous release of content on a website helps the brand interact and maintain relationships with readers. Moreover, if the content is planned in specific areas, the brand will gain even more credibility and appear as an expert in the topics covered.
Additionally, once the content is published, we cannot be complacent. We must constantly check the website rankings, analyze competitor websites, and update our content to be better. In Google’s eyes, new or updated content is more trustworthy because it is considered to be the most current information.
